Donovan Childress

Chair of Funding for Nevada State Student Govermen
Donovan Childress is a History Pre-Law student at Nevada State University with a strong commitment to public service and community-building. Their passion for outdoor equity led them to found BlackPeopleHikeLV, an organization that creates space for Black and Brown hikers to connect and thrive in nature. On campus, they serve as Vice President of Funding, where they oversee scholarships, club funding, and professional development travel support to ensure students have access to meaningful opportunities. Their interest in diplomacy began during a congressional internship with the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, where they were assigned to foreign affairs-related tasks and discovered the global impact of U.S. policy decisions. That exposure sparked a deeper curiosity about international relations and how diplomacy can advance equity on a global scale. Looking ahead, Donovan aspires to join the U.S. Foreign Service and help shape a more inclusive and representative approach to American diplomacy.
