Donna Miranda is a choreographer living and working in the Philippines. Donna relocates choreography from the site of the individual body to that of collective political actions. She works as a freelance consultant for international development organizations concerning gender justice, public health and disaster risk reduction. She is a member of SAKA (Artist Alliance for Agrarian Reform and Rural Development) and does volunteer work for the Federation of Agricultural Workers in the Philippines. In 2022, shortly before the inauguration of Ferdinand Marcos Jr as president, Donna was among over 100 peasants and peasant advocates illegally arrested by state forces for participating in the defense of farm land from land-grabbing mayor and among the 83 charged with various fabricated cases for their political participation.
