Helin Herlbauer is a qualified lawyer with expertise in human rights and gender equality matters. She currently serves as a Gender Specialist for the United Nations Office at Vienna/United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNOV/UNODC). Her work focuses on human rights and gender mainstreaming into UNOV/UNODC-mandated areas including organized crime, terrorism, and corruption by working for and with UN Member States. Prior to this assignment, she worked for Legal 500-ranked law firms and published on critical aspects of European law-related matters. Motivated by her commitment to social justice, she later founded her own legal practice, providing pro bono support to victims of police brutality and gender-based violence (GBV). In her spare time, she volunteers in a shelter that houses victims of gender-based violence.
