David Maslo is the CEO of African Risk Capacity (ARC) Ltd, a hybrid mutual insurer aiding African countries in managing the financial impact of natural disasters. With a strong background in disaster risk insurance and financial management, David has held various roles at ARC Ltd, including underwriter and head of business development. He has been instrumental in creating insurance products for risks like storms, floods, and disease outbreaks, and developing programs that support vulnerable communities. Before joining ARC Ltd, David was the Chief Risk Management Officer at the Caribbean Catastrophe Risk Insurance Facility, managing disaster risk insurance for 30 countries in the Caribbean and Central America. He holds two bachelor’s degrees from the University of Pretoria in Political Science and International Relations, and Economics. David is also a member of the UK Institute and Faculty of Actuaries and the Institute of Directors, with professional qualifications including CPCU and Are.
