David Fukuzawa

David Fukuzawa is currently an independent philanthropic and strategic advisor. He is a retired Grantmaker, with over 30 years in philanthropy. He served as the Managing Director of Kresge’s Health Team for twelve years and then as Senior Advisor to the President of The Kresge Foundation, an independent, private grant making organization. As Managing Director, he developed Grant making program that addressed environmental health, housing and food systems. He helped launch a new multi- million, multi-year grant program—The Climate Change & Health Equity Initiative—in collaboration with the Kresge’s Environment Team. This represented one of the nation’s first major philanthropic programs connecting climate change and health. Previously, he served as a Program Officer at The Skillman Foundation, a private foundation in the Metropolitan Detroit area, with a primary focus on child and adolescent health.
