Darren is the Director and founder of the Canadian-based international consultancy, Novel Futures Corporation. As a facilitator, advisor, writer, and consultant, Darren has over twenty-five years of experience assisting United Nations agencies, governments, international organizations, businesses, and communities around the world in the arenas of strategic foresight and scenarios, risk assessment and resilience, and sustainable development and integrated planning. In 2009, he was the lead editor and author of the book 'Creating Adaptive Policies: A Guide for Policymaking in an Uncertain World'. With master's degrees in public administration and international development from Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government and in geo-environmental engineering from the University of Saskatchewan, Darren draws from a diverse science-policy knowledge base when assisting organizations in the collective pursuit of creativity, adaptability, and sustainability. Mr. Swanson is a professional engineer in Canada and the United States and a certified Infrastructure Resilience Professional.
