Daniel Mminele became the chair of the board of directors of the Nedbank Group in South Africa in June 2023. He was head of the Presidential Climate Finance Task Team until December 2023. Daniel has been independent non-executive director and chairman at Alexander Forbes Group Holdings since April 2022. He also previously served as chief executive of Absa Group Limited and Absa Bank Limited between January 2020 and April 2021. Prior to joining Absa, Daniel was a deputy governor of the South African Reserve Bank from July 2009 where he served two 5-year-terms. His responsibilities included financial markets, international economic relations, and policy as well as the Human and Operations Cluster. He was a member of the Governors' Executive Committee, the Monetary Policy Committee, Financial Stability Committee, Risk Management Committee, and the Prudential Committee. Daniel serves as non-executive director on the board of Salzburg Global Seminar.
