Daniel Azzopardi

Director of Strategy, Arts Council Malta, Malta

Daniel Azzopardi is director of strategy at Arts Council Malta, in Birkirkara, where he leads the organization’s strategic direction and oversees the implementation of initiatives supporting Malta’s arts and culture landscape. He also serves as a board member of the European Network of Cultural Centres (ENCC). Alongside his strategic work, Daniel is a visiting lecturer at Malta’s leading educational institutions and an award-winning actor and director, recognized for his work in Maltese theatre and television. He brings over 15 years of professional experience spanning cultural policy, artistic programming, strategic planning, project management, and creative entrepreneurship. Daniel previously served as artistic director of Spazju Kreattiv, Malta’s National Centre for Creativity (2020–2025), and as festival director of the ZiguZajg International Arts Festival for Children and Young People for four editions (2016–2019). He holds an M.A. in cultural policy and management from the University of Warwick, UK.
