Since August 2021, Chidi King is Chief of the Gender, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Branch, part of the Conditions of Work and Equality Department of the International Labour Organization, where she oversees work to promote gender equality, equity, respect for diversity and inclusion, as well as the ILO's programme on HIV and AIDS and the world of work, with an intersectional lens. She has a strong interest in transformational and power redistributing approaches for advancing the relative social and economic position, health and well-being of women, recognizing our many identities and differing experiences. As Director of the Equality Department at the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC), Chidi led work with trade unions on pay equity, the care economy, gender-based violence and harassment at work, women's leadership, young workers, and rights of migrant workers. A lawyer by background, Chidi has spent over 20 years providing legal and policy advice on issues of equality and non-discrimination with various private, public and voluntary sector organizations.
