Cedric Essi is post-doctoral fellow at the Collaborative Research Center "Law & Literature" (U Münster / U Osnabrück) and associate editor of the journal "Amerikastudien / American Studies." He graduated from the University of Würzburg, received his PhD in American studies from FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg, and was a lecturer at the University of Bremen before joining the American studies faculty at Osnabrück University. Cedric's work focuses on critical race theory, diaspora studies, cultural legal studies, and queer studies. His research has been supported by fellowships at Harvard University, UC Berkeley, and Yale University. His publications include the co-edited special issue "Common Grounds: American Democracy after Trump" (2021).
