Camille Ammoun is a policy advisor and writer. His policy work focuses on urban development, climate change, and political economy. His writing describes and addresses contemporary urban issues with a particular interest in the psychological effects of urban environments on individuals. He worked for ten years in Dubai on public policies related to the urban systems, sustainability, and resilience. Back in Beirut in 2018, he was involved in the fight against corruption and for democratic reform. He currently serves as a policy advisor and political economy analyst with various international organizations focusing on the Persian Gulf, the Levant, and North Africa. He is the author of two acclaimed books: Ougarit, a novel that mixes a political plot with an urban reflection on Dubai; and Octobre Liban, a nonfiction narrative that starts with the Lebanese uprising and ends with the Beirut Port explosion. He holds an MScs from Sciences-Po and HEC Business School in Paris and a BA in economics from Saint-Joseph University in Beirut. He also holds a diploma from John Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies.
