Bryan Sims

Bryan Sims is a peacebuilding and democracy practitioner with 20 years of experience advancing human rights, inclusive governance, and nonviolent social change. His work focuses on bridging research, practice, and policy to support communities and movements navigating political transitions, conflict, and authoritarianism. Bryan currently serves as Director of Peacebuilding and Partnerships at Humanity United, where he leads global initiatives that strengthen collective action, build cross-sector partnerships, and promote equitable, sustainable peace. He is also the founder of the Collective Action Assistance Fund, an activist-led initiative supporting locally driven efforts addressing exploitation, violence, and democratic backsliding. He holds an MA from the University of Kent, Canterbury, and a PhD from Stellenbosch University.
