Breech Harani is an award-winning lens-based media artist from the Philippines, known for creating films, videos, and visual arts that address social, cultural, and environmental issues. Using documentary, experimental, and animation formats, Breech crafts simple, succinct, and impactful stories. In 2024, Breech received multiple accolades, including the Special Jury Award for Short Film at Cinemalaya, the New Scientist Editor's Award from Earth Photo 2024 by the Royal Geographic Society (with IBG), and the Golden Kinabalu Award for Documentary at the Kota Kinabalu International Film Festival. In 2023, Breech became the only Filipino selected for the Rockefeller Foundation's CNN Academy: Global South Climate Storytelling Program. He was the first Filipino recipient of the Young Creatives Award by the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and was listed by Forbes Magazine in its 30 Under 30 Asia list for Arts in 2020, and he was also the first recipient of the Pulitzer Center, Financial Times, and One World Media Climate and Labour Film Grant.
