Bijay Shrestha is a program director at Japan International Support Program in Nepal. He has over 12 years of experience in multi-disciplinary development, training, and consultation. He brings diverse first-hand experiences ranging from humanitarian works, environmental justice, child rights, migration governance, conflicts and food security, gender equity, social inclusion, youth movements, LGBTI rights, and development project management. In 2008, he served as a technical member of the National Planning Commission of Nepal's efforts to draft an Interim Plan. In addition, Bijay has facilitated various training at the national and international levels; some of the training and workshops include child rights, an assets-based community development approach, and team building. Biajy was awarded the Rotary Peace Fellowship 2018 to study peace and conflict studies at Uppsala University, Sweden. He was also awarded the European Commission scholarship to pursue a Masters in human rights and democratization.
