Betty Mould-Iddrisu

Betty is a Ghanaian lawyer with over 45 years of experience, specializing in intellectual property rights, gender, and human rights law. She founded and taught intellectual property law at the University of Ghana Law School for over a decade and served as Ghana's Copyright Administrator and a long-time State Attorney at the Ministry of Justice. From 2003 to 2009, she was Director of the Legal Division at the Commonwealth Secretariat in London. In 2009, she became Ghana's first female Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, later serving as Minister of Education in 2011. A strong advocate for gender justice, she was Africa President of the International Federation of Women Lawyers and founded the African Women Lawyers Association (AWLA), where she remains Life Patron. Betty has also played a significant role in one of Ghana's largest political parties, holding both elective and appointed positions for over two decades. Betty is a Salzburg Global Fellow.
