Bernadette Fernandez is a Founding Member and Trustee of the Teach Peace Build Peace Movement (TPBPM), a Philippine non-profit organization dedicated to transforming every Filipino child and youth into a Peace Hero. She is also a Generation Change Fellow of the U.S. Institute of Peace and a YSEALI PFP Civic Engagement Fellow. With 15 years of experience in the non-profit sector, Bernadette has successfully managed and implemented over 500 projects, including those supported by GCERF, UNDP, and the U.S. Embassy. Her areas of expertise span program management, operations, finance, module development, and monitoring and evaluation. Currently, Bernadette leads the peace education program for 26 high schools and madaris under TPBPM's flagship initiative. During the pandemic, she spearheaded the Peace Hero Kids TV, an innovative online platform that promotes peace values, critical thinking, and conflict transformation among children. This initiative fosters a culture of peace through creative and engaging content. Bernadette's work reflects her unwavering commitment to empowering young people and building a more peaceful society.
