Benjamin Boakye is an Energy Governance Professional and the Executive Director at the Africa Centre for Energy Policy in Ghana. Before his appointment as Executive Director, Benjamin served as the Deputy Executive Director, Programs Director and Operations Director, where he managed the Research Unit and Programs Unit. He has consulted for the World Bank Group and UNDP, providing his expertise on corporate governance, institutional development, fiscal governance, and contract governance in the extractive sector. He works with host communities, analyzing their issues related to the development of extractive projects and revenue redistribution. Additionally, he has extensive experience in power sector reforms, making him a valuable contributor to the energy sector in Africa. As an Energy Governance Professional, Benjamin is interested in supporting African countries to participate in the economics of energy transition. He holds an MSc. in Energy Studies from the University of Dundee, UK, and a BA (Hons.) in Sociology with Information Studies from the University of Ghana.
