Becca Katz

Executive Director & Instigator of Awesomeness
Becca Katz is an educator, edupreneur, writer, and co-founding executive director of Good Natured Learning, an NGO working to make nature an everyday part of every school, everywhere on the planet. She has taught in classrooms walled and wild-from strip malls to the Arctic and Andes-and led 300+ days of wilderness expeditions. These experiences sparked her obsession with human-nature connection and a guiding question: How can billions connect with nature without going on expeditions? The answer came through research and practice: even small, nearby nature experiences-especially supported by teachers-boost learning, well-being, and environmental responsibility. Becca co-founded Good Natured Learning and developed the "apple-a-day" model-a low-cost, scalable approach that equips teachers to weave bite-sized nature connections into everyday instruction, regardless of subject or setting. Over 500 teachers, from Nairobi's informal settlements to rural Colorado, have used it with powerful results. She writes Learning, by Nature and lives in Nairobi with her family.
