Bandy Lee is a forensic psychiatrist and expert on violence with over twenty-five years of experience who taught at Yale School of Medicine and Yale Law School for seventeen years, before transferring to the Harvard Program in Psychiatry and the Law. She is president of the World Mental Health Coalition and cofounder of the Violence Prevention Institute. She served as director of research for the Harvard Center for the Study of Violence, as well as co-founded the Yale Violence and Health Working Group at the MacMillan Center for International Studies. Through her expert reports, she helped reform prisons at the federal, state, and municipal levels and around the world. Bandy authored the textbook, Violence (Wiley-Blackwell, 2019), 17 edited scholarly books and journal special issues, and wrote over 100 scientific articles and chapters. She has consulted with the WHO, the United Nations, UNESCO, and the World Economic Forum.
