Balquees Basalom

Balquees Basalom is an award-winning Saudi journalist and media professional with more than a decade of experience across the Gulf region and the United Kingdom. She has worked with leading media organizations including Bloomberg, Asharq News with Bloomberg, and The National News, reporting from more than a dozen countries. She is the founder of Balqees For Her, a platform dedicated to amplifying women’s voices in the Gulf through storytelling, community-building events, and training programs. Through her work, she has trained more than 250 young women in journalism and storytelling. Balquees is a Salzburg Academy alumna (2014) and a fellow of Georgetown University. She holds an M.A. in Social Entrepreneurship from Goldsmiths, University of London, and a B.A. in Mass Communication, with a minor in Arabic Studies, from the American University of Sharjah.
