Balachandran M.K is the Head of Growth (Asia-Pacific) at IBISA Network. He is an insurance expert and inclusive finance strategist with over 17 years of experience across Asia. In his current role at IBISA Network, he led the development of India’s first heat index insurance for dairy and poultry farmers, reaching over 500,000 livestock. His work spans digital health scorecards for cattle, biometric ID systems, and parametric insurance product design. Balachandran has consulted for the World Bank, UNDP, and UNEP on climate risk and rural resilience, and previously held senior roles at SBI General and HDFC ERGO. A postgraduate from IRMA and a dairy science graduate, he regularly speaks at international conferences on climate risk and innovation in agriculture insurance.
