Ayessa Tin is a program analyst for the Women, Peace, and Security program of the U.N. Women's Philippine Project Office. She is based in Cotabato City, where the office of the regional Bangsamoro government is situated. She started her peacebuilding work in 2012 in the conflict-affected communities of Sarangani Province, Philippines, and has consistently volunteered for peace and development initiatives implemented in these communities. In line with the implementation of the Normalization Program and the GPH-MILF Peace Process, she handled the program on Small Arms and Light Weapons (SALW) under the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation, and Unity (OPAPRU). She has a master's degree in Public Policy, which the In-Country Scholarship Program of Australia Awards has supported. In her free time, she loves to read, write, watch crime documentaries, and get a good laugh from memes.
