Aya is an accomplished International Expert specializing in Development and Partnerships. She began her career as a Producer at the BBC World Service in London (UK) before transitioning to international development, where she has gained extensive experience in policy design and the implementation of development strategies. Her expertise has been shaped by years of service within key institutions, including the Organisation of African, Caribbean, and Pacific States (OACPS)- formerly the ACP Group of States- and the European Union (EU). She has played a pivotal role in advancing cooperation between the two entities. Aya currently leads the implementation of the ACP-EU Culture Programme and oversees key policy areas related to Migration, Urbanization, and Demography within the framework of the revised Georgetown Agreement and the OACPS-EU Partnership Agreement (Samoa Agreement). She serves within the Department of Political Affairs and Human Development at the OACPS Secretariat in Brussels (Belgium). Her work is dedicated to fostering impactful partnerships and sustainable development initiatives that contribute to global progress and cooperation. Aya is a Salzburg Global Fellow.
