Anithra Varia is a development and human rights specialist with over a decade of experience in advocacy, research, and donor-funded initiatives. her work has spanned issues such as enforced disappearances, torture, religious freedom, and land rights. Over the past five years, she has focused on labour rights and corporate accountability, with a particular emphasis on the garment and tea sectors. Her recent work examines how corporations contribute to and profit from gross human rights violations in conflict and war settings. She holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of London and a master's on international development from RMIT University. Currently, she is completing a second master's degree in migration, mobility and development at SOAS, University of London.
