Angel Marie Ysik is a development worker and candidate for the dual master's in gender and peacebuilding from UN University for Peace, Costa Rica, and in global politics from Ateneo de Manila University under the Asian Peacebuilders Scholarship, a shared initiative of The Nippon Foundation, the University for Peace, and Ateneo de Manila University. She is a teacher by profession but her work experience is in project development and management, gender analysis, gender mainstreaming, research, advocacy, community development, and resource mobilization. She has strong linkages with national government agencies, non-government organizations, academia, and civil society organizations. From 2015- 2018, she worked at the Department of Social Welfare and Development to manage and monitor rural development and post-disaster rehabilitation projects to deliver social services in Mindanao, Philippines. Angel's career objective is to transition into the area of conflict prevention and peacebuilding work, applying a gender and humanitarian response lens and ultimately become a leader in the area of gender and international security. Angel holds a master's degree in women's studies from the University of the Philippines.
