Andrew Blazey is part of a specialised team that advises countries on the public management, governmental budgets and the institutional settings that can help to achieve national priorities. He is an experienced practitioner with a focus on leadership in the public sector. In 2018, Andrew joined the Public Governance Directorate of the OECD and is the Deputy Head of the Public Management and Budgeting Division after four years as a Director in the New Zealand Treasury. While at the New Zealand Treasury, Andrew worked in the centre of government on the design, implementation and co-ordination of government reforms. During his career Andrew has worked at the International Monetary Fund and in the private sector. Areas of expertise include public sector governance, performance, and reform. In 2015, Andrew completed an MBA at the Chinese University of Hong Kong and he has a Bachelor of Management from the University of Waikato in New Zealand. Prior to taking up his position at the OECD, Andrew was a trustee of the Victoria University of Wellington Students' Trust and a company director of its operating businesses.
