Andreas Etges is senior lecturer in American history at the American Studies Institute of the University of Munich (LMU). From 1999-2012 he taught US history at the John F. Kennedy Institute for North American Studies at Freie Universität Berlin. Andreas regularly gives talks to non-academic audiences on US history and current affairs and offers teacher trainings on these issues. He is frequently interviewed by German and international media on US politics, elections, and on transatlantic relations. Andreas is also very active in the field of public history. He has curated several historical exhibits, has been an advisor for German TV documentaries on American history, and is founder and co-editor of the e-journal "International Public History," the journal of the International Federation for Public History. Andreas studied in Bochum, Bielefeld, and at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He received a Ph.D. in history from Bielefeld University.
