Andrea Ruy Sánchez is the head of projects at Artes de México, a leading cultural publishing house based in Mexico City, dedicated to the study and dissemination of Mexican art and culture. She is the author of the award-winning children’s book “Economics: What Is Money?” and “The present of Elías,” and a contributor to research and podcasts on the creative economy. Andrea previously spent six years at the Inter-American Development Bank, working in the Innovation and Creative Economy Division on initiatives and publications focused on culture and development in Latin America and the Caribbean. She has also worked as a cultural journalist and television anchor for Televisa and TV UNAM and has coordinated major cultural festivals such as Mextrópoli and All City Canvas. A Chevening scholar, she holds a master’s degree in cultural studies from King’s College London, UK, and is currently pursuing an M.B.A. in arts and innovation.
