Andre Biveti works for the Portuguese government as a legal advisor to the Secretary of State for Maritime Affairs and was previously a legal advisor to the Secretary of State of Fisheries. Prior to his work for the government, Andre focused on privacy issues and data protection in the private sector. Furthermore, he has been involved in local politics since 2017, when he was elected to the local council in the district where he grew up in Lisbon. He has already served as treasurer of the executive body of that local council and is currently the president of the Assembly. He is also involved in civil society as a member of Afrolis, an association which aims at providing different narratives and perspectives about racialized people and marginalized groups, so that they can see themselves represented in the media and have their stories told. In his prior life, he was a track-field athlete. A Portuguese and Angolan national, Andre holds a bachelor's degree in law from the University of Lisbon.
