Anabela Serrão is a member of the Board of IAVE, I.P. where she coordinates all the international large scale of assessments of students such as PISA, TIMSS, PIRLS, ICCS and ICILS. She is also a member of the Expert Group of PISA-VET and a member of the PISA Analysis and Dissemination Group (ADG). She has graduated in Sociology and postgraduated in Data Analysis for the Social Sciences and in Evaluation of Public Policies. Anabela Serrão was the Portuguese NPM of PISA of the OECD (2008 – 2011) and the Portuguese NRC of ESLC – European Survey on Language Competences of the European Commission (2009 – 2011). She was also deputy director of Educational Evaluation Office of the Portuguese Ministry of Education (2009 – 2011). Since her graduation Anabela Serrão has been enrolled in several research projects related to the study of the impact of school level (primary and secondary) in youth employment, the qualifications of Portuguese active population, and more recently, the study of electronic student assessment and the learning process of reading and writing in early stage of education.
