Amr is an Economist with the World Bank global practice for Health, Nutrition and Population based in Cairo, Egypt. He has over 13 years of experience in economic and health systems reforms in low and middle-income countries. He has led and contributed to lending operations, analytical work, and policy dialogue in various regions. Prior to the Bank, he was based in Dhaka, Bangladesh as a Research Associate with Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA), where he managed a portfolio of randomized controlled trials that explored the impact of several health interventions on labor productivity. Before joining IPA, Amr had worked with the Egyptian Competition Authority and several prominent research think tanks, most notably of which are the International Population Council and The Egyptian Centre for Economic Studies where he contributed to various publications. Amr holds a Master's degree in Economics from the University of Warwick, U.K
