With over thirty years of multi-disciplinary experience, Dr Ali Qassim Jawad is a recognized expert in public sector transformation, having led national policies and strategic programmes at the institutional and national levels in the Middle East. Appointed by a Royal Decree, Dr Jawad is the President of the Royal Academy of Management, a new established institution operating under the honorary patronage of His Majesty the Sultan of Oman. In his previous capacity, as a Senior Advisor to the Diwan of Royal Court in Oman, as well as Head of the Diwan's Think Tank Unit (TTU), Dr Jawad has spearheaded several key strategic initiatives which underpin the Diwan's policy and decision-making related to the country's socio-economic development. Dr Jawad held other key positions leading and advising on strategic initiatives and programmes in the public sector across the Middle East. Highlights included overseeing a government's economic reform agenda, developing a national innovation policy, as well as establishing a national competitiveness office. His private-sector experience includes working with leading consulting firms, including Booz Allen Hamilton (USA) and PA Consulting (UK). He has played a transformative role in bringing the government and the private sector to collaborate with each other through a national Public-Private Partnership Task Force, a ministerial-level initiative established under the direction of His Majesty the Sultan of Oman with the specific objective of strengthening the partnership between the two sectors. Dr Jawad has established a global reputation in leadership development, at the institutional and national levels, in both the public and private sectors. Dr Jawad led the establishment of the Institute for Capability Development, tasked with advancing the performance of the Country's senior cadre of management. He has also established and chaired the National CEO Programme, the National Programme for Government Leadership and Competitiveness, and other national initiatives. Dr Jawad has been affiliated with several leading academic institutions including Yale University, INSEAD, and Oxford University. In addition to authoring articles on leadership and competitiveness, Dr Jawad has co-authored numerous books, including among others: "Leadership Intelligence: The 5Qs", published by Bloomsbury and "Governments Reimagined, Leading Through New Realities", published by Thinkers50.
