Ajara Marie Bomah is a professional, business development and communications executive with over 17 years of experience, specializing in diaspora engagement, and investment in Africa with a critical focus on women in business. Her areas of focus are strategy, coordination, and relationship management. She holds a MSW from Smith College School of Social Work. Ajara has strategically gained a wealth of experience in community & youth development, gender empowerment, communications, capacity building and partnership development. In 2008, she moved to Sierra Leone with the passion to help grow talent and rebuild the country by developing capacity and mentoring youth, women, and girls and has been doing this by focusing in the areas of education and business development. As the Education Lead for the Mayor's Delivery Unit at the Freetown City Council, Ajara focuses on delivering aspects of the Human Capacity cluster of the Transform Freetown Initiative. The cluster, has four priority sectors - education, skills development, job creation and support for people with disabilities. Work in this area is intended to cultivate a diverse and dynamic economy with a skilled workforce, which attracts and retains businesses and prepares young people for a sustainable future.
