Ahn Lee

Executive Director, Effective Peacebuilding Initiative, United States of America

Ahn Lee is executive director of the Effective Peacebuilding Initiative (EPI), where she works to strengthen how evidence is generated, interpreted, and used in peacebuilding and conflict prevention. She and her team created PeaceIntel, an evidence platform designed to make peacebuilding research more accessible and useful to practitioners, funders, and policymakers. She is also editor of the Global Peace Almanac, published by EPI, and an advisor to Emergence Field Labs, which supports communities and mission-driven organizations in collecting, understanding, and retaining ownership of the data that shapes decisions about their work. Her leadership is grounded in her experience as research manager for Sayara International in the Middle East and Central Asia, where she experienced how organizational and political realities determine whether—and how—evidence informs decisions in conflict-affected contexts. At home in Vermont, she applies her peacebuilding experience to grassroots work focused on rural governance and strengthening systems that enable meaningful democratic participation.
