Ahmed Taleb Al Shamsi was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Emirates Foundation in September 2019. An emerging pioneer in the field of Youth Empowerment, Al Shamsi possesses an outstanding track record in youth development, mobilization and engagement as well as partnership building, leadership communication and strategic operations. In addition to his role as the CEO of Emirates Foundation, Al Shamsi continue to hold the role of the Director of National Experts Program, in this position, he plays a catalyzing role in establishing a sustainable and effective mentorship model for youth. This features an innovative structure for mobilizing mentors and securing their commitments towards the human capital development of future Emirati experts. Al Shamsi also plays an instrumental role in designing the framework of a groundbreaking expertise think tank to consult on government policies, projects and regulations. Ahmed was also the Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Youth Council from 2017 to early 2019 and the first UAE UN Youth Ambassador. During his role as the Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Youth Council, Al Shamsi spearheaded the design and successful launch of multiple youth empowerment programs and initiatives through forging valuable public and private partnerships. He led youth engagement networks and programs, especially in underserved areas in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, through establishing corporate youth councils across government entities. He also established a youth value-based programs and centers based on the vision of the late Sheikh Zayed al Nahyan.
