Bawk Nu Awng Nhkum is an education coordinator (mother tongue) for Myanmar Education Consortium hosted by Save the Children in Myanmar. She is also a co-founder of an anthology project called Kachin: Stories from an Uncivil War. She has worked as a liaison officer and worked closely with international-NGOs (INGOs), NGOs and UN agencies for humanitarian work in Kachin and Northern Shan State. She was associate program coordinator at Ramprat Shanan Education and Leadership program- Kachin Baptist Convention and also curriculum advisor at Kachin National School. Bawk has held roles as an peace education trainer for TEACH4 Peace Project, a teacher education initiative, as a trainer on the Empowerment Program for Parliamentarians, and as a literature advisor's assistant for the British Council. She has designed and developed a number of training modules and courses for teachers and youth including facilitating workshops, for example English and Jinghpaw language course materials, socially responsive extra-curricular for internally displaces peoples' camps, INGOs, and module for gender equality training materials. Bawk has been working in the Ethnic Education sector with passion since 2015 in Myanmar. She has an M.A. in peace education and an M.A. in political science focusing on global Politics.
