Currents of Change: Redefining Cultural Diplomacy for the Future We Need report summarizes the Salzburg Global Fellows’ discussions at its latest arts and culture session
From July 4 to 8, 2022, Salzburg Global Seminar hosted Currents of Change: Redefining Cultural Diplomacy for the Future we Need.
Salzburg Global brought together over 60 artists, diplomats, policymakers, and academics, representing 30 countries. Together, they considered the potential for art as a force to improve the world and provided recommendations for reimagining the role that cultural diplomacy and relations can play in bringing us closer to the future we need.
Throughout the course of the week, various performances, panels and group discussions took place, with topics ranging from the feelings invoked by different forms of artistic engagement to how global issues can be mediated by the arts, and the power of civic actors to engage with governments.
In this report, you can find a collection of articles from Salzburg Global Seminar and Diplomatic Courier, shedding light on some of the program’s discussions, and the importance of cultural diplomacy around the world.
