Greening School Grounds: Community Meeting 7

Green school grounds have been shown to positively impact five key areas of  childhood development, including play, health and wellbeing, climate resilience and biodiversity, community engagement, and education. However, in many contexts, despite these proven benefits, it still remains harder to make the case for green school grounds than for other less natural options.

The Greening School Grounds and Outdoor Learning community of practice aims to address this challenge by gathering and researching best practices from around the world. Policymakers, community leaders, and practitioners will convene online monthly to share knowledge and discuss case studies, with the goal of breaking down barriers to creating green school grounds at scale.

The agenda for each meeting will be co-created with participants in the month before. Together, we can make a difference in building a more resilient and sustainable future.

These meetings are led by the Children & Nature Network and Salzburg Global Seminar.

If you are interested in joining this community then please contact Valeriia Chernysh or Dominic Regester.
