Ziya Akkurt has been the Chief Executive Officer of Akbank since June 2009. In 2008, Mr. Akkurt was appointed as general manager of AKInvestment and in April 2009 he was elected as the deputy CEO in charge of Corporate and Commercial Banking at Akbank. In 1996 he served as the vice president of the Corporate Banking Department. Before joining Akbank, he held managerial positions in various commercial banks including Ottoman Bank and Banqué Paribas/Paris. Mr. Akkurt is a graduate of the Department of Business Administration at Middle East Technical University.
