Yi-Jong Suh is a professor of sociology at Seoul National University in Korea. He joined the organization in 1999. He is interested in discovering and exploring ethical, legal and social issues of biotechnologies in the elderly. His projects include bioethics and bio-politics of the elderly (from 2013-now); social and behavioral research ethics of terminally ill patients; revisiting bioethics from human experimentations by Unit 731; and science, technology, and society perspectives about super-aged societies. He works as IRB chair of the Seoul National University and as Institutional Review Board member of Samsung Medical Center, and has previously worked on the legalization of the Hospice & Palliative Act in Korea. He received a Ph.D. from Free University of Berlin and a B.A. from Seoul National University.
