Yasuhiro (Hiro) Hayasaki is a counsellor on Global Strategy to the president and the board of directors of The Norinchukin Bank Group (The Central Co-operative Bank of Japan for Agriculture, Forestry and Fishery). Yasuhiro joined the Norinchukin Bank in September 2015. He advises the group on matters of international financial and regulatory matters. Prior to his current position, he was a central banker and a regulator. At the Bank of Japan, he concentrated on the financial stability area. In particular, he was involved in resolving the Japan's financial crisis in the late 1990s and dealt with the failure of the Lehman Brothers Japan in 2008. From 2010 to 2012, he worked for the Financial Services Agency as the deputy commissioner for international affairs. He received a degree in law from the University of Tokyo in 1983 and a Master's degree in internal relations from the University of Oxford in 1990.
