Wairimu Mwangi is the Founder and CEO of Literature Africa Foundation (LAF), Kenya, an organization she founded in 2015. She is passionate about raising a generation of self-reliant individuals through education, skills training and mentorship. Being a creative artist and writer by profession, her projects include developing educational books approved for use in schools across Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda & Ghana by the relevant Curriculum Development Centers, a creative's hub (Ubunifu Studio) in Nairobi, Kenya to equip upcoming creative artists with digital & job skills, Community Library projects in rural Kenya and mentorship programs in schools. Wairimu is a 2019 Mandela Washington Fellow and was awarded among Top 40 under 40 Women in Kenya 2018. In addition, she is a May 2018 British Council Creative Enterprise Program fellow as well as a Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) Regional Leadership Center, East Africa, 2016 Fellow.
