Vladimir Mikikj is an epidemiologist in the Institute of Public Health of Macedonia, Sector for Prevention and Control of Communicable Diseases and IHR national focal point. Currently he is working on the implementation of Sentinel Surveillance of Influenza Like Illnesses in Macedonia and on digitalizing the system for surveillance of communicable diseases. He has worked on the surveillance of communicable diseases and outbreak investigation on a national level. During the professional career, he led the projects for active surveillance for HIV and STI among hard to reach populations in Macedonia, developed a programme for elimination of measles rubella and congenital rubella syndrome. Vladimir was involved in the MediPIET programme during preparatory and implementation phases.
