Vedaste Hategekimana

Vedaste Hategekimana is a registered nurse working at Butaro Hospital and an oncological nurse educator at the Cancer Center of Excellence in Rwanda. He started to work there in 2012 and has coordinated the activities of the Oncology Department as cancer care nurse coordinator. Vedaste is strongly interested in total pain management for patients and he feels very comfortable when patients, reaching their end of life, are free from any kind of pain. He has been trained in different disciplines of cancer care and NCDs, including palliative care training. He is also a national facilitator for baseline cancer training for nurses. Vedaste has contributed a lot to different researches conducted at Butaro Hospital and he has had the opportunity to present some abstracts at international conferences. He earned his bachelor's degree in nursing from Mount Kenya University.
