Tyler Ruth is currently an undergraduate student studying environmental science and policy with a concentration in politics and policy at the University of Maryland (UMD). He is also pursuing a minor in German Language. Tyler studied abroad in Germany at Technische Universität Berlin the summer of 2016 where he studied German energy policy, specifically "Energiewende." On UMD's campus, he was the grassroots coordinator for the "Save the Bees" campaign, one of the many campaigns run by MaryPIRG, which campaigned to ban the use of neonicotinoids, the cause of bee colony collapse. Tyler also took part in the campaign to ban fracking which was successful in the mission to do so in the state of Maryland. Tyler hopes to someday work for the Environmental Protection Agency.
