Tunde Adeleke is a professor of history and director of the African and African American Studies at Iowa State University. A native of Nigeria, Tunde came to the United States in 1990 after a decade of teaching in the Nigerian University system. He joined Iowa State in 2006. He has taught in several other institutions including, Tulane University, the Ohio State University, North Carolina State University and the University of Montana. He has published extensively on the subjects of race, ethnicity, identity, nationalism and Pan-Africanism. He earned his MA and PhD from Western University, Canada.
