Tin Maung Htwe is a Research Fellow at Chiang Mai University's Regional Center for Social Science and Sustainable Development. Tin has over a decade of experience as a practitioner and a scholar. His expertise encompasses human rights, peace, migration, and economic development, particularly within Myanmar, China, and Southeast Asia. In his prior role as program manager at the Center for Diversity and National Harmony in Maung Daw, Rakhine State in Myanmar, Tin addressed critical issues surrounding the Rohingya Genocide. He has worked as an advocacy manager for Equality Myanmar, a renowned organization for human rights in Myanmar. Tin holds recognition as a Professional Fellow of YSEALI (US 2017), USIP (Dalai lama youth leadership program India 2017), and KAICIID (2019). He has several published papers and books, such as 'Mapping Injustice in Myanmar', 'The Life Struggles of Labors during the Covid-19 Epidemic and Coup' and 'Lives of Migrant Factory Workers from Rural Areas' focusing on Human Rights and Sustainable Development in Myanmar. Tin holds esteemed memberships in various organizations, including the Young Heritage Experts International Association, Australia Myanmar Institute, and One Young World Ambassadors. Tin Maung completed his master's in Development Studies from City University of Hong Kong and a bachelor's in Psychology from Dagon University, Myanmar.
