LEE Seong-Hyon (Sunny) is a chief China correspondent for The Korea Times, and a lecturer at Tsinghua University’s Center for International Communication in Beijing. Lee has been living in China since 2002. He grew up in South Korea and has degrees from the United States and China, graduating from Grinnell College, Harvard University, and Beijing Foreign Studies University. He’s completing his Ph.D. at Tsinghua University with a focus on “Media and political framing: How media report on North Korea.” He is fluent in English, Chinese and Korean. Lee’s articles and columns on China and North Korea have appeared in Foreign Policy, Harvard Magazine, Yale Global Online, Asia Times, Global Times, The National, Global Post, Liaoyang Dongfang Zhoukan, and JoongAng Ilbo China Institute. He appeared as a guest and commentator on CCTV, Al Jazeera TV, Hong Kong’s Phoenix TV, and China Radio International, and Korea Broadcasting System (KBS). He also gave talks at Seoul National University, Yonsei University, the Confucius Institute, the Journalists’ Association of Korea, Peking University, Tsinghua University, and Ewha Womans University.
