Shoko currently leads the urban analytics project for Toyota Woven City. Previously, Shoko worked as a disaster risk management (DRM) specialist at the World Bank Tokyo DRM Hub. She shared Japanese knowledge and experiences on integrated urban flood risk management, green infrastructure, disaster risk finance and insurance, and resilient industries.. Shoko has supported World Bank investment projects in India, Indonesia, Bangladesh, and the Pacific Islands. She has spent 5+ years working on climate change adaptation in the Pacific Islands and Ghana with the United Nations Development Programme. Shoko is interested in the intersection of people and environment in cities and strives to enhance resilience and sustainability through better use of data, finance, and nature-based solutions. Shoko holds a 'master's in city planning from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a 'bachelor's from Macalester College.
