Shelly Cory is the executive director of the Canadian Virtual Hospice (www.VirtualHospice.ca and www.PortailPalliatif.ca). Over the past nine years she has led the growth of Virtual Hospice into the most comprehensive online knowledge management system on palliative and end of life care, loss and grief in the world. She is passionate about applying an "online lens" to palliative care challenges and leveraging communication technologies to help address needs, particularly those of underserved populations. Recent projects include the development of www.LivingMyculture.ca, www.MyGrief.ca, Indigenous Voices: Stories of Serious Illness and Grief, and www.Methadone4pain.ca. Previously she was policy advisor to the Honorable Sharon Carstairs, Minister with Special Responsibility for Palliative Care with the Government of Canada. She holds an M.A. in political studies and received the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Award for her work.
